Graphic beginningsWhile in high school, I decided to take a digital art class. This is where I discovered my love for learning software and creating graphics with it. This pushed me towards our yearbook where I realized I had a knack for learning software quickly and truly loved design!
Publications galoreOnce in college, I found myself a graphic designer for the Houstonian and the Skiff. These were student ran newspapers that taught me how to communicate with clients, translate their needs into designs, and layout content around these advertisements. By graduation, I was the Art Director for the Skiff, where I created the ads and ad layout for each publication, as well as the Creative Director for the journal of the arts, eleven40seven, where I designed advertisements and 100+ page books for print and digital consumption.
Design for all occasionsAfter graduating, I took various design roles. These positions taught me how to design for screen printing, embroidery, lighted signage, and other sign needs. I finally, landed a role at GreenRope where I utilized my customer service aptitude, love for learning software and creative prowess. I built automation to streamline the training process, designed emails and other materials to maintain client engagement, redesigned our feature requesting process, and created marketing and educational videos for the knowledge base. While in this role, I obtained a number of certifications and found a passion for User Experience and User Interface design.
Still learningI am always eager to learn and now is no exception. Today, I'm looking at gaining certifications and learning more about front-end engineering and application development. With all this knowledge, I hope to assist others with their graphic design needs and create something amazing!
